Tired of paying high-prices for your eDiscovery projects and getting back poor results? Give us a try and find out why our other clients chose us and not them; it’s the only way to truly know WHY.

Q: How do you charge for eDiscovery processing?

A:  For processing services we charge by the total amount of gigabytes to process before processing (NOT the extracted size) and for consulting services we charge by the hour. Pretty basic right? Native processing is cheaper upfront than straight TIFF/PDF processing.

Q: Do you charge on the “extracted size” of the data?

A:  Absolutely not. We still can’t understand how or why our competition regularly gets away with this. Yes, it is true most data when processed for eDiscovery will expand, but that is a big unknown factor until is processed, so you never know exactly what the total bill will be until after processing.

Our pricing makes a lot more sense; if a client has 100gb of Outlook email we will charge them on the processing of 100gb of Outlook email, even if that 100gb extracts to 300 or 400 gigabytes. There are no "bait-n-switch" pricing models at Logik Systems.

Q: What types of cases have you worked on?

A:  Working with law firms and major corporations has given us the opportunity to work on all kinds of matters involving eDiscovery. Mostly the types of cases we work on are under the categories of litigation, investigation, or regulatory inquiry. Within these categories we have worked on small and large scale class action lawsuits, mergers & acquisitions, 2nd requests, SEC inquiries, intellectual property disputes and many more.

Due to confidentiality agreements we are not allowed to disclose exactly which cases we have worked on, but if you watch CNBC from time to time you will hear about a case or two we are currently working on.

Q: What is the biggest project you have ever completed?

A:  We are currently working through a wholesale partner on one of largest bank mergers in history. So far, we have processed almost 1 terabyte of data and some 10 million documents. This project is a native review hosted with a 3rd party and processed to TIFF post-review for production.

Technically, we haven't completed the project yet, but when it is done it will be the biggest project we have ever completed. Before this project began our biggest completed project was ~450gb of all kinds of email indexed and converted to TIFF over the course of 2 months.

Technology FAQ

Q: How many gigs (i.e. gigabytes) can you process per-day?

A:  GridLogik is capable of processing 100-200gb for native requests and 2-10million images for tiff conversion requests per-24hours. Processing time does not take into account the time to export the data to hard drives and for large scale projects export time could add an additional 24hours.

Q: What are the smallest and largest projects you have ever completed?

A:  We have handled projects as small as 1 mb(megabyte) and as large as over 1 tb(terabyte).

Q: What type of email formats can you process?

A:  We have yet to run across an email format that we cannot process. We process all of our data in its native format. Some examples of email formats that we have processed are; MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, Orchestria, Bloomberg, Groupwise, HP Open Mail, RFC based email (AOL, Gmail, etc.), Becky, Thuderbird, and Blackberry to name a few.

Q: Do you analyze the file header information to determine what the REAL file type is?

A:  Absolutely! We never use the extension to determine the file type.

Q: What method of de-duplication do you perform for emails and non-emails?

A:  We de-duplicate emails by stringing together multiple meta-data fields such as From, To, CC, Subject, File Size, Attachment Names, and Body text and then hashing that data to create a unique MD5hash value. This value is compared against other emails and if two emails have the same MD5hash they are considered duplicate. Non-emails are de-duped based on the hash value of the file itself; a fairly simple process.

We offer both vertical (i.e. within) de-duplication as well as horizontal (i.e. global) de-duplication. Vertical deduplication is the process of de-duping documents within a custodian. Horizontal de-duplication is the process of de-duping across custodians.
